On April 12, 2008, Shanghai Wuzheng Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. and Inner Mongolia Three-dimensional Coal Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. signed a feasibility study report contract for the project of coal-based ethylene glycol industrial demonstration plant in Hohhot. The project is an extension of the coal chemical industry chain and can replace ethylene to ethylene glycol process. The production of ethylene glycol from coal is in line with the energy structure of our country. Our country has more coal, less gas and less oil. The production of ethylene glycol from coal realizes the comprehensive utilization of coal chemical industry and breaks the process route of ethylene glycol production depending on petroleum. It will benefit the present and future generations in terms of energy strategic security and economy.
