On the morning of November 20, 2015, Shanxi Yiding Coal Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Wuzheng Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. signed a patent license for 200,000 tons/year syngas medium and high pressure carbonylation process to ethylene glycol plant at Shanghai Wuzhou International Building. Contract with the technology, and also signed a basic design and detailed design contract with Shanghai Ryukyu Engineering Co., Ltd. The project is located in Wangcun Industrial Park, Lu Village, Luliu County, Changzhi, Shanxi Province, and has been listed as a key project of 2015 in Changzhi City, Shanxi Province.

The project is a set of medium and high pressure carbonylation process ethylene glycol project signed by Shanghai Wuzheng following the 400,000 tons of ethylene glycol project of Jilin Hongdian. The project is polyester grade ethylene glycol. The full cost is 2,574 yuan / ton. It can be seen that after various parties and technical demonstration teams have considered and demonstrated many aspects, the ethylene glycol technology for medium and high pressure carbonylation process has been gradually recognized, and the pace of project promotion is quietly accelerating.

Shanghai Wuzheng's second-generation medium-high pressure carbonylation process to produce ethylene glycol technology has finally taken a solid step in the large-scale production of ethylene glycol in China. The large-scale production of ethylene glycol devices is also an inevitable choice in the case of persistently low oil prices. The domestic price of ethylene glycol tons has dropped from 7,000 yuan or more six months ago, and has been reduced to about 4,700 yuan per ton.
