On November 16, 2012, Shanghai Wuzheng provided the patented technology of Xinneng Phoenix (Tengzhou) Energy Co., Ltd. The “50,000 tons/year dimethyl ether ethanol industrialized equipment” cooperation project was officially signed in Phoenix (Tengzhou) Energy. The two sides cooperated on the methanol-to-ethanol project, including the construction of a 50,000-ton/year dimethyl ether-based ethanol industrial plant, and the construction of a 200,000-ton/year methanol-to-ethanol plant for Party B. As a model demonstration project, its complete set of process packages and catalysts are supported by Shanghai Wuzheng Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., which marks the mature application of Shanghai Huaneng on the industrial scale of methanol (dimethyl ether) carbonylation to ethanol technology. It will also drive the development of domestic coal-to-ethanol technology, promote the industrialization of this technology, and fill the growing demand for the ethanol market.
